It’s going to be an exciting night at this year’s IFA event in Berlin. Among other mentioned devices, a Samsung product, named YP-GP1 has got our attention. It’s supposed to be the new Galaxy Player, which will certainly give the Samsung’s lineup of premium media players a big refresh. The design philosophy resembles the current flagship: the all mighty Galaxy S3, featuring those familiar round corners. It will pack a huge 5.8 inch screen of qHD resolution. Both of the CPU‘s cores tick at 1GHz in order to ensure optimal performance for media playback. Android 4.0.4 ICS is the OS of choice and, unsurprisingly, TouchWiz Motion UX is on top of it. You also get a decent 3MP camera at the back and a VGA unit at the front. Other specs include GPS, Gyroscope sensor, MicroSD card slot, PowerVR SGX540 GPU, FM Radio and Stereo Speakers. And, last but not least, the 2500mAh battery supposed to power this beast.
We have also had a chance to get a glimpse of the performance of the Galaxy Player. It has got a nice score at NenaMark 1 of 58.50 FPS. That sound good, but it’s certainly not a killer.
The device will come in two flavors: the traditional black and white. We are eagerly waiting to see this one, what about you? Share your opinion in the comments section below!
