Samsung unveils 32nm Exynos 5250 1.7GHz dual-core SoC codenamed Exynos 5 Dual


Samsung Electronics debuted the Exynos 5250 chipset in the fourth quarter of 2011, over months later, today the South Korean vendor published a whitepaper in which details the upcoming Exynos 5 Dual SoC.┬áThe worlds first 32nm chipset to sport ARM Cortex-A15 suffered some changes according to the whitepaper published, instead of a CPU clocked at 2GHz the two cores are underlocked to 1.7GHz speed, and although it looks less speedy, the CPU’s power is still 40% faster and offers over 2 times better performance than Exynos 4 Dual processor.

Furthermore the new chipset supports new quad-core Mali-T604 GPU, WQXGA LCD screens with 2560x1600p resolution, Full HD playback and video recording, SATA drives and DDR3 800 MHz RAM.

This could be the chipset to equip the unreleased Samsung GT-P8110 tablet rumors to sport an 11.8 inch display.
