Nikon to launch its first Android-based compact digital camera – Coolpix S800


Nikon one of the worlds leading vendors specialized in optics and imaging is about to unveil  a new Android-based compact digital camera. The rumored name for this Android camera is Coolpix S800c, according to Indonesian Communication Agency website filling dated July 31st 2012.

Coolpix S800 could pave the way to a future market that Nikon could explore in the near future by launching high-end DSLR cameras based on Android OS too.

Rumored Nikon Coolpix S800c specs:

  • 25-250 mm lens
  • 3.5″ OLED screen
  • camera to run all Google Play apps
  • The camera will probably run Android 2.3
  • Built-in GPS
  • Built-in Wi-Fi
  • Possible announcement: August 22, 2012
