ZTE unfolds its first Android 4.1 Jelly Bean smartphone for China


Chinese vendor, ZTE has launched this morning in China a new smartphone – N880E which is the world’s first non-Google Nexus handset to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.

The ZTE N880E is only OEMs first Android 4.1 smartphone, promising to launch a few more soon. N880E was originally launched in May with Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS since then the company sold over 1 million units until today.

ZTE Vice President and CTO of the Handset Division, Mr. Kan Yulun, told us “ZTE has an excellent relationship with Google and this, combined with our extensive R&D capabilities and our experience of customizing devices for partners around the world, means we are able to bring new technologies to market very quickly,” adding “Our aim is to provide the best quality customer experience for the best value, and the N880E is a great example of this.”
