LG exceeds 150,000 Optimus LTE II units sold on its domestic market

In South Korea LG Electronics and Pantech are fiercely competing for the runner’s up position in Korea’s 4G LTE phone market since the first place was already claimed by Samsung phablet the 5.3-inch GALAXY Note LTE handset sold in over 2.5 million units.

Launched on May 11, Pantech sold around 210,000 units of its flagship Vega Racer 2 (60,000 units more than LG considering Vega Racer 2 was released 10 days earlier) which according to Gartner’s market data research, the Korean vendor took the second place in the overall domestic smartphone market with 20.5% share in the Q1.

The mobile division of LG Eletronics said it has sold over 150,000 units of its Optimus LTE 2 (the worlds premier handset to sport 2GB of RAM) since its launch on May 21st and apparently surpassed 1 million LTE units sold in total over the last 15 days counting the Optimus LTE (Nitro HD, Spectrum) units as well.

LG is also expecting to outrun Pantech Vega Racer 2 total units sold with its Optimus LTE II smartphone in the following months.
