What we’ve known to be Sony Xperia Tapioca or ST21i to refer to its build number the phone will see a marketing name change. According to Indonesia Postel website, Tapioca will be renamed to Sony Xperia Tipo.
Furthermore Sony is considering to launch a second model Xperia ST21i2 or Xperia Tipo Dual which sports dual-sim’s (hence the 2 in its model number ST21i2). Likely this device is heading for markets like China (Asia) where dual-sim smartphones are really appreciated.
Sony Xperia Tipo or Tapioca has a 3.2-inch WVGA (320 x 480 pixels) display, Qualcomm MSM7227 800MHz processor with Adreno 200 GPU and 512MB RAM. A 3MP camera without LED flash to capture photos or shoot videos at VGA resolution (640 x 480p) and 1,450 mAh battery. Surprisingly it will launch with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
