Google+ for Android app receives a major overhaul, still no option to edit Pages

Google Plus for Android receives a major update v2.6 today, which totally changes the way the stream UI looks like (Whats hot, All Circles and Nearby tabs). It seems that Google borrowed a little from Google Currents UI style making it more appealing to the naked eye.

The update v2.6.0 brings a visual refresh to the stream and improved navitagion, you are now able to start a hangout directly from the main menu, adds support for ringing hangout notification, support to edit posts, the ability to dowload photos from posts or Messenger conversations and more.

I dislike the fact that Google didn’t add support to edit (administrate) your own Google+ Pages. I was hoping to have that option in the latest update. Another thing I dislike is no matter how you share a post (from your own profile or your own G+ Page, within the app it still shows as if it was posted under your name and not from your page). Support for Google Plus pages is poor.

What’s in this version:

– Visual refresh of the stream and improved navigation
– Initiate a Hangout from the main menu
– Support for ringing hangout notification
– Support for post editing
– Messenger suggestions for people you may know
– Download photos from posts or Messenger conversations

Download Google+ from Google Play Store.
