If this was the first time we’ve met Sony Xperia Lotus name, we would have said that a new Android phone has been uncovered, but it’s not. At the beginning of 2012, more precisely on 18 January, an internal document leak from Sony India, Xperia Lotus name surfaced for the first time along with details of a possible launch for August and a price of 277 Euro’s set for the handset.
In a more recent leak from this week, the above mentioned Xperia handset codename Lotus is tied to the model number ST27i / ST27a through the user agent profiles (UAP) found on Sony’s website. According to these profiles Lotus is powered by an ARM Cortex-A8 processor, it has a touch screen with 480×854 resolution and it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Some already speculated that the chipset is in fact an ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 dual-core CPU clocked at 1 GHz and that it is likely to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at the time of launch.
What do you guys think?
