LG Mobile: Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for Optimus 2X arrives in the third quarter

Last year in December, LG Mobile was announcing 2Q 2012 as the timeframe to when the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will start rolling out to the first batch of smartphones including LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, LG Optimus 2X, LG Optimus Sol, LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse. Followed by a new wave of upgrades for the following smartphone models during the third quarter of 2012: the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX.

However we are already in the middle of the second quarter, but still LG hasn’t started pushing out any ICS  updates yet.

Furthermore the South Korean based manufacturer in an answer posted on Facebook confirms that Ice Cream Sandwich for Optimus 2X (handset part of the first wave of devices scheduled for a software upgrade) is officially being pushed to third quarter.

Not the best news for LG customers who have been already waiting for several months.
