Vodafone Australia offers a software update (Android 3.2.1) to GALAXY TAb 10.1 customers

Well here’s another disappointment, the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 in Australia is getting a software update, but it’s not the latest OS from Google – Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, it is an update to Android 3.2.1 Honeycomb.

All customers who bought a Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 from Vodafone Australia are now eligible for a software update and here is the change log:

User Interface Enhancements:

  • Expanded Recent Apps list
  • Resizable Home screen widgets

Connectivity for USB accessories:

  • Storage Devices
  • Keyboards and pointing devices
  • Joysticks and gamepads

Miscellaneous Enhancements:

  • Support for FLAC audio playback
  • Better WiFi connectivity when display is off
  • HTTP Proxy support over WiFi
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements
  • Security fixes
  • Improved Adobe Flash support in Browser

The new firmware is pushing out over the air (OTA) so you don’t have to plug it into your PC or laptop to receive it (i.e. KIES).¬†It will be around 140MB in size, that’s why we advise to charge your battery to at least %60 before going through with the update process.
