HTC One X was certainly the most hyped phone at MWC 2012 but not much was revealed about its specs at the conference which left many wondering as to how powerful phone it really is. Equipped with the Tegra 3 processor, consumers would be stunned to find out that the US version will not feature the Tegra 3 processor but will rather have the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4.
It is a much debated topic in the Android Community and it seems just silly of me to have left this post so late. Many wonder which is superior and by how much ? There had been various rumors indicating Nvidia had gotten the edge over Qualcomm but recent benchmarks tell a completely different story.
We have already seen these processors being compared before, but this seems to be the first time it is done with an HTC One XL, specifically. A curious user, Phonegeek, put his HTC One to the test with Vellamo and Quadrant benchmarks. The HTC One XL outperforms the ASUS Transformer Prime (Tegra 3) by a handful, and it more than doubles the score of the Galaxy Nexus on both tests. This comes to show that Qualcomm’s 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 is no small competitor.
Although these test might be misleading at times, it is still music to the ears to see that HTC One XL’s Snapdragon S4 leaves the ASUS Transformer Prime in its wake. However, we have yet to see how well this device performs and till then folks keep dreaming of the sweet heaven that is quad-core multitasking.
