Some of our readers living in the United Kingdom have asked us during the last few days about Samsung’s firmware upgrade rollout date for the GALAXY S II . Finally Samsung UK confirmed minutes ago via Twitter and Facebook that the rollout begun yesterday (feel the excitement).

Today Three UK informed its customers about ICS OS upgrade as well. The announcement comes a week after Samsung was announcing Android 4.0 availability in select countries like in Europe – Sweden, Poland, Hungary and South Korea in Asia.

Ice Cream Sandwich software update is pushing out  in waves to GALAXY S II devices since Monday 19th March and will continue over the coming weeks, however the availability will be subject to each carrier’s (network) own software approvals process.

  1. My favourite things about ICS on SGS2 are:
    The improvement to the main GUI and the GUI’s of GMail and Gtalk;
    The built in contacts blacklist
    The ability to turn off the lockscreen
    and the data usage counter.
