Samsung about to announce 11.6 Android tablet with 2650×1600 resolution on Friday?

Apple outed yesterday the new iPad with its super cool 2048x1536p IPS display which it is probably the best resolution display right now in terms of tablets (pads), but what about Samsung’s 11.6 Android tablet rumored about a while ago. We havent seen it at CES 2012 not even at Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona so where is it? Was it just plain speculation and nothing more?

Well, folks at Pocket-Lint claim that Samsung will announce the 11.6-inch Android tablet this Friday at SXSW in Texas. Their source told them that the screen will feature a 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution which is way better than what Apple has today on its newly announced iPad.

Additionally there are other expected hardware specs including a dual-core Exynos 5250 chipset clocked at 2GHz and a design that keeps the new tablet almost at the same size with the GALAXY TAb 10.1 thanks to its thin bezel, and it will run Google’s latest version of Android – Ice Cream Sandwich.

The company already has an 11.6-inch Windows tablet (Samsung Series 7 Slate), which makes Samsung no stranger to the 11.6 size.

That’s all we have for now we will follow this story to keep you guys posted. Stay tuned!
