Samsung announces 10.1 Galaxy Tab 2 at MWC


Samsung reveals the second tablet from the 2012 Galaxy Tab 2 Series after announcing a 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2 three days ago. What you see in the picture above is the older brother of the 7″ tablet and it is the next-generation of 10.1-inch tablets. The announcement comes a couple of hours after it got leaked in Germany.

The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1-inch model is powered by a Dual-core 1GHz processor, features a WXGA (1280x800p resolution) touch screen PLS TFT display, with a main 3MP rear-facing camera and a VGA camera in front for video calls.

In addition the 10.1 GTab 2 is 9.7mm thick, weighs in at 588 grams, comes in two memory storage variants 16/32GB expandable for up to another 32GB via microSD card slot, 1GB of RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, a 7000 mAh battery and it runs on Google’s latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

The Galaxy Tab 2 Series is available in available in 3G and WiFi versions for both the 7″ and 10.1″ tablets. Both tablets will launch at first in the UK and from there globally as early as March.
