Maxatec launches Hoeft & Wessel skeye.dart with Android OS


Maxatec is one of the first distributors to bring a mobile computing device with an Android operating system to market.  The skeye.dart from Hoeft & Wessel is available with Android version 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS.

Skeye.dart is robust, rugged, versatile and combined with an ergonomic design makes is the best terminal solution for all applications in field service and logistics.

Powered by a high-performance Marvell PXA320 processor clocked at 806 MHz, 256MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM built-in memory storage, the handheld comes in two variants of operating systems Windows Embedded CE 6.0 or Android. Skeye.dart has a 3.5″ VGA touch display (480 x 640p) and at the bottom an easy to use  keypad layout. or data transmission, in addition to the WLAN module compliant with IEEE 802.11b/g ( Security: WPA2, WPA– Encryption: AES, TKIP, WEP).

In addition this terminal has a GPRS/EDGE module; accordingly, all the relevant data is always available up to date. A GPS module facilitates navigation as well as tracking of the device. A headset can be connected by an audio interface. Be it photography or barcode capture via the integrated scan cam, pick-by-voice through headset or controlling peripherals via Bluetooth 2.0 EDR class2.

The  skeye.dart can be safely installed in vehicles, and thanks to the optional power pack with double capacity, the terminal is also ideally suitable for long assignments.
