Asus postpones Transformer OG (TF101) ICS upgrade for next month? [UPDATE]

I know it’s not the news that any owner of an Original Transformer TF101 would expect to hear right now, but we’ve gotta’ post this to keep you guys informed.

Last month one of Asus employes wrote on their official Facebook page that the upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS is due to arrive sometime at the middle February right after Eee Pad Transformer Prime upgrade finishes (rollout for TF201 started back in early January).

Unfortunately this piece of information is not valid anymore apparently Asus postponed the rollout for next month (March). At this time Asus hasnt made any statements to why the upgrade is delayed again but we will keep you posted once we have more. Hopefully users on other continents will get the upgrade in time.

Update: Asus Singapore made the following statement on their official Facebook page:

“Dear fellow Asus members, we would like to say that we appreciate all the support we see in our Asus Facebook page every day. It makes our contributions worthwhile and fulfilling.

We are informed that the ICS upgrade for TF101 will be ready within the Feb/March 2012 period. You will be able to receive the upgrade notification via FOTA once we have a confirmation date.

We thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter”

So the update might start pushing out by the end of February if not in early March it all depends on Asus developers hard work to carry out the new firmware as soon as possible.
