A last-minute gossip says that Samsung has dropped the 32GB GSM Galaxy Nexus from production line. According to a notification received by Expansys this morning, Samsung has canceled the product shipment to the US retailer.
In an article published by CNET on Saturday (Feb 11), shows that Apple is doing its best to ban the first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone — Galaxy Nexus from being distributed in the US. It appears that the company has all the legal means necessary to do so.
Further more according to Florian Mueller at Foss Patents Apple brought a motion for a preliminary injunction against the device on Thursday with the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
“We’ve just been notified this morning that Samsung have dropped the Galaxy Nexus 32GB from production. At this time it looks like they will not be releasing it. Not good news at all.” said Corey Expansys-USA
“Apple has requested a ban on Galaxy Nexus sales in the US claiming that the showcase for Google’s heavily touted Ice Cream Sandwich version of the Android operating system violates four Apple patents.” wrote Edward Moyer Saturday Editor at CNET.
Unless this is a meer coincidence, Samsung’s last-minute decision could be the result of Apple’s request to ban the handset. Right now everything appears to be at the level of rumors. We will keep you updated once we hear more on this story.
