Chad Bartley an analyst at Pacific Crest made a few predictions about Amazon’s 2012 Kindle Fire sales increasing his initial projections from 12.7 Million to 14.9 Million he also added that the sales revenues will see another boost once the online bookseller Amazon launches two new Kindle models. Wait what? Did he just say two more Kindles, hmm.
Mr Bartley probably has an inside tipster who must of tipped him about Amazon’s plans to launch a couple of new Kindles. Looks like Amazon is about to introduce a new 7-inch (dual-core) and a 9-inch (quad-core?) variant Kindle by the end of the first half of 2012.
“We are raising our 2012 sales forecasts to 14.9 million from 12.7 million,” said Chad Bartley. “But we believe there is an upward bias, particularly from the new 7- and 9-inch models, which we expect to launch in mid-2012.”
Amazon is pretty much eating up all of its competitors with the Kindle Fires low-cost (only $199). I am intrigued whether Amazon will sell the upcoming 9-inch slate at a low price like it did with the Fire, specially if it’ll be a quad-core tablet. Would you be interested in buying a 9″ Amazon Kindle Fire??
