Motorola launches Droid RAZR Developer Edition (bootloader unlocked) in Europe

Motorola Mobility to start experimenting in the field of devices with an unlockable bootloader. Europe is the first continent to receive the new Droid RAZR Developer Edition.

This is a solution to test and meet both carriers and developers (consumers included) requests to have future unlocked Motorola handsets. The company also has plans to introduce an unlockable developer device in the United States through MOTODEV, Motorola’s global developer network. Stay tuned to Motorola’s Developer site for additional information in the coming months.

“This solution allows us to continue meeting our carrier and regulatory obligations, but also meets the needs being expressed by our developer community,”  said Motorola Mobility on official blog.

Motorola Droid RAZR Developer Edition has the same specifications as Droid RAZR. European consumers interested in buying the phone are able to pre-order it through the Motorola Shop. Buyers will have access to MOTODEV site containing all support info for unlocking, relocking and locating build files, as well as access to additional developer resources.
