LG released a Gingerbread update for the Optimus Black in India. Here are some of our thoughts about that:

According to AndroidOS.in, a reportedly new firmware upgrade is now rolling for LG Optimus Black in India.

This software update brings your LG device to Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS available now via LG’s software update tool. If you need to download the tool you can get it from here, once installed all you need is to plug your smartphone into the USB cable connect it to your PC and check for any new updates. Read more 

We saw a leaked specs-sheet of the upcoming Android powerhouse, the Samsung Galaxy S3. Here’s what we said about that:

The Samsung Galaxy SIII is probably the most anticipated Android smartphone from Samsung and probably all around the Android community. Speculations about SGS III looks and hardware specifications has been made for sometime. Not long ago a concept design reached specialized blogs and forums rising a wave of contradictory discussions leading to new rumors among Samsung fans. Full article 

Acer Iconia Tab A100 gets the latest Honeycomb update. Here’s more about that:

Iconia’s around the world have been powered up to the Honeycomb 3.2.1 update. Users from France, Italy and Japan have noted the Honeycomb update availability on their tablets. Read even more 

HTC Rezound got an OTA update. Here’s the story:

HTC Rezound users have spotted an OTA update from Verizon and HTC , although a changelist or fixes list is yet to be issued. Be sure to take a quick look and apply theupgrade under the Settings menu if you’re on an unrooted, stock ROM.

LG Optimus One receives a nearly-finished CM9 custom ROM. Here’s a paragraph from the article:

LG Optimus One receives an early build of CyanogenMod 9 bringing a taste of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS for the first time courtesy of recognized developer on XDA forums, lupohirp.

The ROM is compiled from CM9 sources and while is still in beta stages the ROM is fully functional, well almost, apparently camera isn’t working yet and probably a few more minor undetected glitches. Read the full article
