Rumors about a new Sony Ericsson device called Nypon that might sport ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 chipset are close to be true, as the device for the first time showed up in some leaked concept design images a few days ago, a device that we didn’t knew much about.
Apparently the smartphone in the middle on the black background is non other than Sony Xperia LT22i (Nypon).
The confirmation comes today from PocketNow whom got their hands on some real-life screenshots of LT22i Android smartphone to confirm the look (design) of Nypon. We are not really sure if the phone will launch under that name or when will it make its debut (Sony might introduce it before Christmas and make it available for sale in early next year).
Rumored hardware specifications for Sony Xperia LT22i include a dual-core U8500 1GHz processor, a 4.0-inch qHD capacitive touch screen display, 1GB of RAM, 16GB on-board memory storage and a 8MP rear-facing camera with Sony’s back-illuminated Exmor R sensors. Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS on launch and software upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich later next year.
Update: Looks like this is not the real Sony Xperia LT22i, actually it is a concept design but not the real deal, though i gotta admit it looks pretty neat.
