Philips is not really known on the mobile scene as a successful handset maker but they quietly released an Android smartphone in China just “to run one’s head against a brick wall“.
More of a mid-range Android device although designed for business consumers, the phone’sdimensions 117mm x 66mm x 10.5 mm put’s it somewhere in the middle, not to thick but not to thin either, Philips W920 comes in a Gold color giving it an air of high-class with a chic stylish looks.
W920 boasts a 4.3-inch WVGA HD TFT touch screen with 480x800p resolution display, powered by a 1Ghz single-core Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with Auto-focus and LED flash. W920 has 200MB of built-in memory storage expandable via a microSD card slot up to 32GB, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and it has a 1280 mAh mAh battery capable of 12 hours talk time and 400 hours of standby. The phone runs on Google’s Android 2.2 Froyo operating system with a custom Philips UI on top of it.
Philips W920 is a business Android device that might hit the shelves for a price tag about $630 USD unlocked and around $200 on a customer agreement.
