Chinese handset maker, Lenovo launched this morning a new 5-inch hybrid device running Google operating system Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The name is a little unclear because Lenovo China has it featured on their website as Lenovo Music PadS2005A 8GB in two colors (Daylight Orange and Midnight Black), while the rest of the world refers to the device as LePad S2005.
Lenovo Music PadS2005A features a 5-inch capacitive touch screen with a low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) ultra-low power technology point of light, visible at 178 degrees viewing angle, the sun is still clear, powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.3-megapixel camera in front for video calls and chat, micro HDMI and USB ports. The hybrid device also has a microSD card slot. LePad is quite slim at 9.95mm thin and lightweight body weighing 198 grams.
This could become a fierce competitor for Samsung GALAXY Player 4.0 and 5.0 if the price is right. According to Engadget the device might make its debut in a few days (next week) on China Unicom’s 4G HSPA+ network when we might hear more about its pricing details.
