HTC’s first 10.1″ Quad core tablet launching in 2012 — codename Quattro

Rumors were already spreading all over the internet in media about a possible 10.1-inch quad-core tablet from HTC coming in 2012 possibly with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system on-board.

Now the rumors get more realistic with a render showing the 10.1-inch quad-core tablet with a 1280 x 768 pixel  resolution from HTC, called Quattro. According to PocketNow, HTC Quattro Android-powered tablet (image above)  is less than 9mm thinn and it sports the same  AP30 Tegra 3 (Kal-El) chipset like HTC Edge (first quad-core smartphone) 1GB of RAM, 16GB built-in memory storage plus a microSD card slot for extra storage up to 32GB (maybe 64GB). Other features are Bluetooth 4.0, 5GHz Wi-Fi  and looks like Beats technology will be coming along adding dual stereo speakers.

Whats curios about Quattro is the rear-facing camera although has full HD video capability, it seems it has only 2MP but his might be just some misunderstanding, we belive it will be at least 5MP similar to what GALAXY Nexus has, while in front a 1.3MP webcam for video chat capable of 720p HD.

The slate should arrive as early as first or second quarter of 2012, likely in two variants WiFi-only and WiFi with 3G/4G.
