A Lenovo employee confirmed Android 4.0 for ThinkPad since July 25th

The Chinese manufacturer Lenovo emerged on the tablet market a few months ago with their line-up of Android devices: IdeaPad A1, IdeaPad K1 and  ThinkPad.

Guys at Tabtech.de discovered that one of Lenovo employes confirmed Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system for the ThinkPad (business-based slate) since July 25th in a reply on their official forums, which means Lenovo started working on the customization and optimization of the ICS OS for its Android tablets for a while now.

“Preston (Lenovo employee): ThinkPad will push out Over the Air (OTA) update for Ice Cream Sandwich the next OS”

Despite the news of ICS OS arrival, we do not have any details about an official date when Android 4.0 ICS OS will be available for ThinkPad or any of the IdeaPad’s, but we belive that it is likely to arrive in the first quarter of 2012 somewhere in January / February.
