Today T-Mobile and LG Electronics officially launched LG Doubleplay or as we previously knew it as the LG Flip II dual-screen Android smartphone with a split and slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
LG Doubleplay is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread and sports a primary 3.5-inch touchscreen display and a secondary 2.0-inch touchscreen which can be operated together or independently. This smartphone also features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities.
Other features are the Group Text and Cloud Text where Group text allows communications with multiple individuals at once, while Cloud Text allows sending and receiving of text messages across platforms, including a desktop PC and/or a tablet.
No pricing details mentioned in the press-release announcement. We expect LG Doubleplay to land exclusively on T-Mobile shelves somewhere in early November (maybe November 2nd according to earlier leaks).
