Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 available for pre-order at $399


In addition to having the Galaxy Tab 8.9 up for grabs, J&R now also has the Galaxy Tab 7.0 up for pre-order at $399.99 for the 16GB variant and $499.99 for the 32GB variant. Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab 7.0 late last month but was silent on the device’s release date, however J&R have put the device for pre-order although a delivery date is still unknown. The tablet is rumored be shipped by 11th November according to the guys at T-Mobile.

Running a Honeycomb based Android 3.2 platform (TouchWiz) , the seven-inch tablet also packs a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a/b/g/n WiFi. Running on a 8 GB LPDDR2 RAM and equipped with a moviNAND 16GB or 32GB storage versions the tablet is in many ways a cheaper option to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Retails at $499 16GB). An impressive screen resolution for a 7-incher, the 1024×600 (WSVGA) Tablet also has a 2.0MP front camera and a 3.0MP back camera. The tablet also has Bluetooth 3.0 and USB 3.0 with a microSD slot while also being HDMI compatible (adapter sold separately).

The 4G compatible tab is loaded with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface which delivers its media, social, eReading and other hubs, together with some custom widgets and software like Kies Air.

The company says it will land in Indonesia and Austria first, at the end of October, before being released globally in Asia, US, Europe, CIS, Latin America, Middle East, Africa, Japan and China.
