Months ago a leaked information was poiting to a new Dell Streak, a 10.1″ tablet. Fast forward to today Dell is announcing, not a tablet but a Dell Streak smartphone that weighs around 140grams with a 4.3-inch Gorilla Glass Super AMOLED touchscreen with 540x960p resolution display. So while the front is protected by Gorilla Glass the back of the device is covered with a anti-slip soft sillicone rubber case pretty tough to protect against scratches or any bumps during its life-time.
The Streak 101DL packs a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8260 Qualcomm processor, 8-megapixel camera rear-facing camera while the front-facing shoter is a 1.3 VGA for video calls purposes, a WiFi conectivity,GPS, Bluetooth 3.0 and a microSD card slot up to 32GB. Android 2.3 Gingerbread seems to be Dell’s choice for the operating system running on this device, allthough I would of dreamed of Android ICS OS since it launches in 2012.
This device will arrive in Japan in first quarter of 2012, probably will hit shelves by the end of January. No information about its pricing availability.
