The weekend has arrived, along with this week’s round-up, the “Week in Review @PocketDroid.” This past week was quite interesting, and I’m going to share the most important articles with you.

We started this week with the Gingerbread update for the Samsung Fascinate. Here’s a cut from the story:

A great way to start your morning while drinking a cup of coffee is to receive news about afirmware update for your Samsung Fascinate 4G.

Telus is rolling  a new firmware update Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread version PTLKH2 for Fascinate and you can download it directly from Telus website because its not available over the air (OTA), dont bother checking you wont get it that way. Full story 

After that we spotted some images of a Motorola tablet. Here’s what we said:

A blurry photo surfaced today displaying an unknown device branded with Motorola logo and according to rumors it’s the upcoming 7-inch Android tablet from Motorola Mobility, a device mentioned by the CEO, Sanjay Jha a few times in the past. Full article

We found out that the Samsung Nexus S 4G got the Android 2.3.7 update. Here’s a part from the story:

The first people getting their hands on a Gogle Wallet app are the lucky ones who own a Nexus S 4G, because a new update Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread is rolling on Sprint bringing not only Google Wallet, but Gogle shopper and a few security patches too. Click here for full article 

Then, we heard that the Samsung released the kernel sources for the Galaxy S2. In our words:

Sounds like a very good news for developers interested in improving Galaxy S II performances (overcloacking, clockworkmod recovery and more) to have a full kernel source code at their disposal. Full story

We spotted a couple photos of an upcoming smartphone from LG, the LG Optimus EX. Here’s a cut from the article:

A new smartphone leaks out from LG Electronics in a press render image unveiling a 4.3-inch device running Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

LG Optimus EX by its name rumored to feature a dual-core processor, a 5 megapixel camera rear facing wit LED flash and autofocus, 1GB of RAM and all the usual WiFi,Bluetooth 3.0, and GPS. Full article 

Sony released an update for their Android tablet, the Sony Tablet S. Here’s the story in short:

Sony Tablet launched almost a week ago in United Kingdom and if you got one by now you need to know that Sony is already rolling that promised update to 3.2 Honeycomb, as their tablet came out of the box with Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system. Click here for the full story

And the last news is: we spotted some images of the upcoming Motorola Xoom 2! Here’s what we said about that:

Up until now there were only rumors and speculation about a 2nd Motorola XOOM tablet. Well folks @Droid-Life got their hands on the very first exclusive photos of Motorola XOOM 2, model number MZ617. Full article with images
