Up until now there were only rumors and speculation about a 2nd Motorola XOOM tablet. Well folks @Droid-Life got their hands on the very first exclusive photos of Motorola XOOM 2, model number MZ617.
As you can see from both screenshots, the front is quite similar to the first tablet but the back is totally changed. The rear-facing camera has printed on it HD, meaning it is likely to sport a 8-megapixel camera capable of (at least) 1080p HD video recording with flash LED and autofocus and a 2-megapixel camera on the front. The aluminium case on the back has blueish color combined with black plastic angled edges. According to source it has a SIM slot (there is no carrier logo because it’s just a prototype as you can see it says on the back cover NOT FOR SALE). The MZ617 has HDMI and USB ports, but it will not have a microSD card slot (probably because the on-board storage will be at least 16GB if not 64GB). We hope for at least a dual-core processor of at least 1.5GHz if not a quad-core CPU (that would be awesome) and maybe Kal-El chipset from Nvidia. Does it look like a 10.1-inch tablet? What about Android version 3.2 Honeycomb or Ice Cream Sandwhich? So many unknown variables!
This is all we know so far, about XOOM2 hardware specification, feel free to comment and/or speculate!!! We would like to hear what else would you like to feature.
