MIT Launches The New Center For Mobile Learning Powered by Google


The MIT’s Media Lab announced today, building of the “New Center for Mobile Learning”, with funding support from Google Education.

The research center, will be led by three MIT professors (Hal Abelson, Class of 1922 Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; Eric Klopfer, Associate Professor of Science Education; and Mitchel Resnick, LEGO Papert Professor of Learning Research. ), and focuses on building innovative mobile technologies in education, such as interactive games for children that use location-aware (GPS).

The first project involves creating new features and versions of Google’s App Inventor for Android, which allows programmers to easily build apps for the company’s smartphone operating system.
