55% of US Consumers Bought A Smartphone In The Last 3 Months


According to the latest survey from NielsenWire, 38% US consumers now own a smartphone and 55% of those who purchased a new handset in the past 3 months reported buying a smartphone instead of a regular phone, up from 34% just a year ago (almost doubled).

This comes just a day after Andy Rubin announced that they activate around 500,000 devices each day and could reach 600,000 by next month.

Android continues to be the number one operating system with 38%, while the iOS is second with 27%, however Apple is the leading OS that has shown the biggest growth in the last couple of months.
