PocketDroid Review – Samsung Exhibit 4G

Samsung the worlds leading Smartphone manufacturing company has come up with its 4G phone with collaboration T-mobile the SAMSUNG Exhibit 4G. There is common misconception that the 4G phones are expensive. In order to burst this myth T-mobile and Samsung came together for a small Smartphone for the ultimate 4g experience.

Samsung Exhibit 4G is small Smartphone with a 3.5 inch display. The screen is super amoled .  The dimensions of the phone 119 x 58 x 13 mm. having thickness of just 13mm it is one of the slimmest 4g phone. The weight of the phone is just 125 grams. The super amoled display is the best display available for all smartphones. Thus the display is covered by gorilla glass which is scratch resistant. The display is so smooth, crisp and bright that it’s possible to us the phone in broad daylight. The display resolution is 480 x 800 pixels which is quite great for 3.5 inch devices.

A smarthphone should have a great combination of software and hardware. Let’s check if hardware matches up the today’s requirement. The phone got a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor with Hummingbird chipset. It also has 512mb ram and a pretty gpu.  The specifications are almost same the Samsung’s trump card Samsung galaxy S. Though using microsd card the memory can be expandable up to 32 gb but a 200 mb internal memory is nothing. The battery back up is pretty low as it is having a 1500mah LI-on battery. Being a 4G phone the battery drains much faster, in our hands it gave us backup of 6 hours on 4G internet surfing and downloading.

Talking about the camera the phone has 3.2 MP Autofocus camera with LED flash. The camera clarity is pretty awesome. The colors are well separated and have great textures combinations. The video recording is only 720p while we expected full 1080P HD video recording. There is no dedicated camera key. The front camera for video calling is Vga. The Samsung has given it the Vga camera in order to reduce its price.

The multimedia features in phone are pretty OK. The standard music player and the video player are up to the mark, but not to our surprise it doesn’t p[lay full HD 1080 p video. The music player has a  5.1 channel surround sound feature which is only available in headphone mode.On music playing the phone has about playback of 12 hours.

The gallery app is great it give us the cool iris like experience. The pinch zoom feature is pretty great but doesn’t match up to the RETINA display of the apples Iphone 4.

In the name of connectivity it has lot of features like 3g HSDPA, 21 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps , Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot . It also has Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP.  The media streaming options of the phone is also great it can stream video on pc, Ps3 using a Allshare app.

Samsung EXHIBIT 4G runs on latest ANDROID 2.3 GINGRBREAD. The standard android features are ok. As a 4G phone browsing must be fast and awesome. It runs flash video without any lag thanks to the ADOBE FLASH PLAYER and the powerful 1GHZ processor.  Gaming on the phone is pretty ok. The phone runs ASPHALT 5 HD, PES 2011 without any lag.  The quadrant standards are same as of the Samsung galaxy s. The phone is the killer for all expensive 4G android phone.

Final words, the phone is great and has got a great potential. The main key factor the phone is that its cheapest 4G phone in market. Powered by the T-MOBILE the duo’s are the wind and thunder. The phone is for one who wants to experience the power of the 4G without shelling more bucks from their pocket.
