Google Set To Unveil Mobile Payment Service Tomorrow


According to Bloomberg, Google could unveil a mobile- payment service on May 26 that will be available on phones through Sprint Nextel Corp.

An undisclosed source told Bloomberg, that the service will let consumers with specially equipped phones (NFC = Near Field Communication) running on Android to pay for goods and redeem coupons with their handsets.



The technology is available on the Android-powered Nexus S (As it was shown at Google I/O Conference) from Sprint, the third-largest U.S. wireless operator.

This service will be implemented Thursday in five major cities in the US: New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington, D.C.
