One of the best Custom Roms in the Android Community has been the Cyanogen Mod based on Android version 2.3 Gingerbread. This ROM generally supports only High-end phones like the MOTO Droid,HTC desire etc and offers features not found on stock firmwares of supported Phones like:
Android v 2.3.3
Kernel 188.8.131.52 with CFS
Reboot menu (options to perform a reboot, reboot into recovery, or reboot into bootloader)
Input settings (Haptick feedback adjustments, trackball wake, menu unlock, music controls on lock screen)
Performance settings ( surface dithering, JIT, VM heap size, and lock messaging in memory)
Now,many devs have been trying to either make the Cyanogen Mod developer to release a ROM supporting their respective Phone model but none have been succesfull till date.

Samsung Galaxy 5 is low-end entry level android phone intended to focus on the budget-conscious android customers. It has a basic set of features like a 2MP Snapper and a low res screen. It has a large community of Galaxy 5 owners and devs who succeded in porting the cyanogen mod to their device and have been the first to port the MOD to a Low-end device

I personally have a Galaxy 5 and I am running the Mod on my Phone and till now have not encountered any bugs whatsoever so all I can say is thumbs up to the Galaxy 5 community and devs for porting the Mod and keep up the great work.
