A number of new Android phones have been released lately on the market, such as Galaxy SII (2), LG Optimus 2x, but one of the biggest announcements made, was regarding Samsung’s newest “crown jewel”, the Infuse 4G.
Recently, our PocketDroid team got a chance to review this phone and we were extremely impressed with it. Even though it has a 4.5 inch display it is just 8.99 mm thick making it the slimmest 4G smartphone on the planet.
It is packed with a Super AMOLED Plus Display promising to be brighter and easier to view under direct sunlight and we were quite impressed as we could easily use the phone in direct sunlight. The colors are very vivid in this beautiful 800×480 screen. It has a 8.0mp rear facing camera and a front facing 1.3mp camera which better compared to other phones which have VGA front-facing camera. The pictures we took were just amazing and it also records video in full HD1080p.
It is loaded with Android 2.2 and also has Samsung’s TouchWiz 3.0 UI. The seven homescreens and array of widgets makes it fun to use. It has Samsung’s 1.2ghz single core processor but the applications open up extremely fast and UI Response is also amazing. You wouldn’t mind that it is a single core processor unless you are a benchmark junkie. It supports speed of upto 21Mbps but AT&T networks are not equipped to deliver such fast speeds. We played a few games which require 3D graphics and it could run them exceptionally well. We tested the Music and Video playing capabilities. The volume was pretty good and it could play a 1080p youtube video.
