PocketDroidWeekReview Week in Review @PocketDroid (02.07 08.07)

Another week had passed, and it’s time for our weekly review, the Week in Review @PocketDroid.

HTC treated the Incredible S with an ICS update. Here’s more info on that:

HTC is on a rolling-spree! Last week HTC Evo 3D customers received their taste ofAndroid 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This week is HTC Incredible S users turn to take a bite from the Ice Cream Sandwich as the softwareupdate is reportedly pushing out via over the air (OTA). More

Smasung Galaxy Tab 7.7 received its ICS update, which pushed its version number to 4.0.4. Here’s the article:

Users from Europe, Austria and Germany owning GALAXY Tab 7.7 (GT-P6800) tablet have reportedly receiving Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich software update. The new firmware build is IMM76D XXLQ1, it is 237MB in size and it is now rolling out via OTA (over the air) and Samsung KIES software.

Google added official support for the Nexus S 4G again. Here are our thoughts about that:

You might know that Google dropped support for the CDMA version of the Nexus S in February. The reason was its proprietary CDMA radio binaries – they were signed with different key than the one used in AOSP, and thus leading to several problems. It looks likeGoogle and Samsung have found a solution for this error, and the Nexus S 4G will be included in the Android Open Source Project again.

Huawei released Ascend D1 3G in China. Here’s a paragraph from the story:

Huawei Device has started selling today on its domestic market the new dual-core Ascend D1 3G smartphone part of the Diamond series which also includes a quad-core model called Ascend D quad.

Ascend D1 3G has similar specs with Ascend P1, features a large 4.5-inch TFT IPS+ HD touch screen with 1280x720p display, powered by a TI OMAP 4460 dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 1GB of RAM, it has 8GB of built-in memory storage (ROM) and it runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
