Colin Birss, United Kingdom judge who ruled in the case of ”GALAXY Tab vs iPad” patent dispute found that Samsung Electronics isn’t guilty of infringing any of Apple’s patents when it comes to the GALAXY Tab design, saying that the Samsung’s tablet is “not as cool” as the iPad.
According to judge Birss also said that Samsung’s tablets “do not have the same understated and extreme simplicity which is possessed by the Apple design.” Although this is not the most elegant way out from a patent lawsuit, Samsung should be satisfied with judge’s ruling.
Not the proudest moment for South Korea-based OEM but at least the ban is lifted at least for the next 21 days as Apple may still appeal on this decision.
