A recognized developer known in the world of Android app development as Chainfire managed to gain root access on a Samsung GALAXY S III. However his method is not yet available for the public because the person who gave him remote access to the GALAXY S III kernel source code for testing purposes might be traced.
“Unfortunately, I am not able to share the “insecure” kernel with you at the moment, because of fears it is traceable to the leaker (this is said to be the last traceable firmware revision),” told Chainfire to XDA.
The above root method will be available once the handset or the kernel code becomes available to the public.
