Verizon’s Twitter account DroidLanding has been offline for over a year and a half. The last time we’ve seen this account active was back in November 2011, tweeting about Droid RAZR series. The reactivation could mean one thing, that a new Droid is on its way to rule all machines.

Reactivation protocols initiated ::: Systems nearing operational status ::: Stand by for further instructions…

— DroidLanding (@DroidLanding) June 18, 2013

At this point we have no idea what this messages means, but we are sure that we are in for a big surprise. I’m thinking Star Wars. What about you? What do you think this is?

T-Mobile or should I say the “UnCarrier” has just announced that they will be carrying exclusively in the U.S. starting this summer, Sony’s 2013 flagship smartphone – Xperia Z.This way T-Mobile continues to offer customers a wide range of 4G LTE smartphones, but what sweetens their offer even more is the fact that we are in the summer season, that time of the year when most of us head to the beach, and what better choice than getting a water resistant (IP55 and IP57) smartphone on a monthly (not yearly) plan.

“T-Mobile customers traveling this summer will love the Xperia Z with its big, beautiful HD screen, water-resistant design and advanced camera features,” said Jason Young, vice president of product marketing, T-Mobile. “This is an outstanding combination: a premium 4G LTE smartphone with Sony’s best features coupled with T-Mobile’s unlimited data and speedy nationwide network.”

“With Xperia Z, we are thrilled to bring a breakthrough smartphone to T-Mobile, the breakout carrier in the U.S.,” said Timothy Hernquist, North America Vice President of Marketing, Sony Mobile Communications. “Xperia Z offers customers a beautifully designed, water-resistant premium Android smartphone ready to handle whatever life throws at it.”

The Sony Xperia Z will launch in the coming weeks nationwide at T-Mobile retail stores, select retailers and online through www.T-Mobile.com. The phone will be available in the standard black edition, as well as in a limited-time purple variant while supplies last.

Today in London, Huawei announced the hotly-anticipated Ascend P6. It’s also dubbed the world’s thinnest smartphone, measuring only 6.18mm!

The Ascend P6 features a 4,7-inch display of HD resolution and a 1,5GHz quad-core processor. It pioneers a class-leading 5MP front-facing camera, which should be ideal for self-portraits, while the shooter at the back is an 8MP sensor, which is quite common these days. The battery is a 2000mAh one, which promises enough endurance for the average user. The Ascend P6 runs on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean, modified with Huawei’s latest Emotion UI.

Probably the biggest highlight of the Ascend P6 is its 6.18mm thick body with brushed metallic look. It weighs 120g and should be grippy enough for a comfortable use.

Huawei Ascend P6 is expected to hit the Chinese market in June, whereas in Western Europe it is scheduled for July. It will be available in black, white and pink for an undisclosed price. If you want to read the full press event, hit the source link right below.

HTC Desire 200 is now official. The entry-level Android smartphone borrows some of its bigger brother design features, including the top speaker grill, packing a 3.5 inch HVGA display, 1GHz Snapdragon S1 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB internal storage, 5MP camera, Beats Audio, Android 4.0.3 and HTC Sense 4.0 UI. You shouldnt expect much from an entry-level device that’s ment for emerging markets. HTC Desire 200 is 11.9 mm thick and that’s because it has to fit all the hardware inside, however it doesn’t weigh much, only 100 grams.

The new Desire series device has a 1,230 mAh battery which will offer up to 7.4 hours talk time on WCDMA and up to 10.9 hours for GSM networks. HTC Desire 200 is available in Black and White colors with small portions of red to match Beats Audio logo in an elegant way all in a small form factor.

Still no word on its pricing, however it shouldnt go over $80 to $100.

LG announced that it has sold one million Optimus G Pro handsets in its domestic market Korea. That’s a big number for LG and the G Pro is the fastest smartphone to reach the 1 million milestone, as it’s been on sale for 4 months.

The daily sales of the Optimus G Pro in Korea top at over 8000 handsets a day. That’s the product of the effort LG has put into its latest flagship device, and we bet the manufacturer is very proud of its top-end offering.

The key features that made the LG Optimus G Pro so popular are its 5,5-inch FullHD display, the quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor found inside, the 13MP camera and the cool software features on top of Android 4.1 Jellybean. The smartphone has lived to its expectations to challenge and beat Samsung’s ace in the phablet race, the Galaxy Note 2.

The 3G variant of the Galaxy Note 8.0 just received another update in Germany.

The new build bearing the N5100XXBMF1 moniker doesn’t bring much to the table aside from general bug fixes and stability & performance improvements. A visual change was the addition of transparency to the notifications bar.

The update is quite heavy judging from the stunning 174MB weight. We have no actual changelog but we’re pretty sure that Samsung bundled a lot of updated ‘S-Apps’ along with possible software enhancements to their TouchWiz framework amongst other things. The firmware was compiled on June 4 but still bears the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 build.

The update is already rolling out OTA as well as via Samsung KIES. German users should soon see an update notifications in the coming days.

The Chinese mobile maker Oppo is making a big move, because it is ready to expand its portfolio in 2013 launching new handsets, including Oppo Find 7.

Just recently, Oppo launched Ulike 2, a smartphone dedicated to young female consumers and we’re hearing word about an Oppo Find 5 mini smartphone version, which will probably go on sale by the end of the summer and there is also a even more recent rumor which hints to a new Oppo Find 7 device that is likely to launch in mid-September with a 5 inch to 7 inch Full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage (microSD slot included) and huge 4,000 mAh battery.

At this point this is just a rumor coming from Asia, but we are expecting to hear more about Find 7 during IFA 2013, in Berlin, if the rumor has some truth in it.

Oppo Find 5 created quite a stir when it was announced with its premium hardware and metallic shell, all available at a surprisingly $400 USD price tag.
