Tomorrow, October 4, Google will be unveiling the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, but, somehow, Canadian carriers and Carphone Warehouse retailer in the UK went ahead and revealed both the specs and images of Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL handsets.
What you see in these images are the Black and the White variants of both Pixel smartphone that will run Android 7.1 out of the box. Nougat flavour that will bring the Pixel Launcher with its circular icons and brand new navigation on-screen menu buttons.
According to CPW retail shop product early listing, Google’s Pixel XL will feature 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display (2,560 x 1,440 px — 534 dpi), protected by a sheet of Gorilla Glass 4, it is powered up by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 quad-core CPU, 4GB of RAM and a 3,450 mAh battery ready to deliver up to 26 hours of talk time.
Additionally, it will ship equipped with 8MP front facing camera, 12MP rear-facing camera with 1.55um big pixel f/2.0, USB-C port, with nano SIM and up to 256GB microSD card slot. Pixel XL measurements are as follows 154.7 x 75.7 x 8.6 mm and it weighs in at 168 grams.
The smaller of the two, Google Pixel feature a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, the same Snapdragon 821 CPU, 4GB of RAM, camera setups (back and front), a 2,770 mAh battery underneath, while the measurements are 143.8 x 69.5 x 8.6 mm, weighing in at 143g.
Google developed it calls Live Cases for the Pixel phones with artwork inspired by Google Earth (“striking images from around the world”) and Google Trends (most common searched terms).
