Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 821, its latest mobile chipset which according to the manufacturer it is engineered to deliver faster speed, more efficient power saving, and greater overall apps performance. The Snapdragon 821 is engineered by Qualcomm to deliver up to 10% increase in performance over the popular quad-core Snapdragon 820 present in almost all flagship smartphones this year (2016). Since the beginning of the year, the Snapdragon 820 chipset has been integrated in over 115 premium smartphone and tablet devices world-wide.
The leading mobile chipset maker says that it didn’t release the new SoC to replace the best one yet (i.e. Snapdragon 820), but “rather to complement and extend the competitive strengths of our Snapdragon 800 lineup.”
A new wave of handsets powered by the Snapdragon 821 SoC will be arriving in the second half of 2016 and Samsung could be among the first mobile makers to adopt it.
