Samsung Electronics has been working on a new notification system for its smartphones called Smart Glow, and it is based on lightemitting diodes (LED).
Smart Glow might be coming sooner than we would have expected as a few press renders of an alleged Galaxy J2 hit the Internet revealing a ring around the camera which is what Samsung calls Smart Glow. This ring lights up in different colors signaling incoming calls, missed ones, text messages or just indicating low battery level.
According to SamMobile source, Smart Glow will have extra functionality, but not on the J2, as this is a budget phone. Speaking of extra functionality, Samsung’s Smart Glow feature will also be able to bring weather info or measure owner’s pulse (heart rate sensor). Such technology might be included in future top-tier Galaxy smartphones by Samsung, such as the Galaxy S8 in 2017.
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy J2 later this week, in India.
