This week, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei confirmed the date of the unveiling of the next smartphone flagship killer — OnePlus 3. The event will be happening on June 14, and it will be streamed live online but, you will require a VR headset like the OnePlus Loop VR or Google Cardboard.
Pei also revealed that their invite purchase system will no longer apply, instead, customers will be able to buy a OnePlus 3 exclusively online in the first two hours after it is being announced, but only through the Loop VR app. After that, anyone will be able to place a pre-order at OnePlus shop.
We’re releasing the OnePlus 3 invite-free, right from launch day. In addition, invites are gone forever from future OnePlus product launches, said Carl Pei in an official forum statement.
The rumour has it that the OnePlus 3 will feature 5.5-inch AMOLED Full HD display, it will come equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820, 4 or 6GB of RAM, 64GB built-in storage, probably a 16MP rear-camera and 3,000 mAh battery.
The housing of the next flagship smartphone killer is made entirely of Aluminum this year, bearing an uncanny resemblance to HTC One smartphones and latest iPhones from Apple.
