Huawei is currently in the top 3 mobile makers world-wide, but the Chinese company has plans to outrun Apple and Samsung in the following years and one of the aces Huawei holds, is its premium line of smartphones.
In 2016, Huawei is expected to unleash four smartphones under P9 series branding: Huawei P9, P9 Lite, P9 Plus (Max) and a performance hungry model equipped with top-notch hardware.
The standard Huawei P9 model will feature 5.2-inch 1080p, the Kirin 950 octa-core processor backed by 3GB of RAM and Mali-T880 GPU. P9 will come in 32GB variant, while the premium and more performance oriented model will be available with 64 or 128GB of internal storage (expect a microSD card slot too). There is also a USB-C port and a 3.900 mAh battery underneath its metal housing, according to Evan Blass sources. As for the camera combo, we should see two 12MP cameras on the back with Leica lenses as depicted in these alleged live shots.
Right now, the information about pricing and availability of the P9 is scarce to none, but we should expect Huawei to release such details during the 2nd quarter of 2016.
How do you find this all-metal design with dual cameras and a fingerprint reader at the back?
