LG Electronics is going to introduce this Sunday, February 21, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the flagship that a lot of people is expecting to see in all its glory – G5. The smartphone is rumoured to feature some sort of modular battery (detachable) along with a so called “Magic slot” which will allegedly allow one to easily switch between accessories.
A picture depicting the retail box of such a modular battery has been making the rounds on the Internet all day today. On it, we can easily distinguish the G5 branding as well as the removable bottom of the smartphone.
Another image received from an anonymous source by Android Authority reveals an attachable accessory which looks like a part of a compact Camera with several buttons on the sides. This is likely one of G5’s bundle accessory attachable through the rumoured Magic slot. The other one is a swapable 2,800 mAh battery module, confirmed by Evan Blass a.k.a @evleaks via Twitter. The serial leaker also published a couple of fresh press images portraying the upcoming G5 in metal armour.
The LG G5 unveiling will happen this weekend in Barcelona, Spain, in a press event broadcasted live by LG Electronics over the Internet. As for the specs, we expect the G5 to feature a screen between 5.3 and 5.6 inches, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM and Android 6.0 Marshmallow flavour.
