As you’ve probably learned from our earlier reports, this year, Google is looking to launch 2 Nexus smartphones instead of one and a 7-inch tablet, as it did the last few years, with LG Electronics and Huawei on-board to build these two new handsets.
While the phablet model (between 5.5 – 5.9″ screen) will be built by the Chinese OEM to accommodate the Nexus 6 fans, the Nexus 5 (2015) smartphone which will be slightly smaller, is being manufactured by the South Koreans and it will feature a 5.2″ display (probably QuadHD screen resolution), it will likely sport the Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor, and a 2,700 mAh battery.
Twitter account @OnLeaks released a set of images recently, revealing the alleged back cover of the Nexus 5 2015, which could feature dual Cameras and a fingerprint sensor on the back, unless its something else, maybe a heart rate sensor.
The rumour has it that Android M build will be ready by the end of August and at least one of the Nexus’ phones will launch with it, if that’s the case, we are looking at an early September availability through the Google Play store in key markets (US, UK, Germany, Japan).
Will you be looking to purchase a Nexus phone this year?
