There’s no secret that Samsung Electronics will be unveiling a new Galaxy Note phablet at IFA 2015, in Berlin, as it always does this time of year, what most people don’t know, is that the Korean OEM will be announcing a round smartwatch gadget as well, to go along with the Galaxy Note 5.
Dubbed Samsung Gear A, the smartwatch is rumoured to feature an Exynos 3472 chipset with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, which is backed up by the Mali-400 MP4 GPU and 768MB of RAM. Gear A known also by its codename Orbis, will feature a Super AMOLED 360 x 360 display, 4GB of built-in storage, Bluetooth 4.1 and a 250 mAh battery, which may not be enough to power the watch for a full day (24 hours). According to SamMobile there will be two variants one with WiFi, but all will run on customized version of Tizen OS (not Android Wear, unfortunately). Samsung is said to be working with various designers and mobile accesories makers to create a variaty of straps, bands for the Samsung Gear A (Orbis), which will also feature a digital crown, besides the bezel ring that will help with the navigation through the UI/Menu.
Samsung Mobile Unpacked IFA event will likely take place at the beginning of the September, which is a month and a half away.
