HTC has just announced its newest device, the HTC Butterfly 2 also known as the HTC HTL23. HTC is well known because of its high end smartphones, especially its One series. The Butterfly series however isn’t as popular because these devices rarely make an appearance outside of Asian market.
The HTC Butterfly 2 is definitely a high end device, with specifications similar to the HTC 2014 flagship, HTC One M8. Like the One M8, the HTC Butterfly 2 has the same 5 inch Full HD S-LCD3 screen, the same processor, the Snapdragon 801 and also the same HTC Sense 6 UI,and yes,it is compatible with the Dot View Cases.
The HTC Butterfly 2 will be available in different colours, such as blue(or is that indigo?) red and white. The HTC Butterfly 2 has a duo camera, armed with a 13 MP f/2.0 sensor on the back, with the second lens used to record additional depth information. The front camera is 5 MP,so your selfies will definetly look good. Other specs include 2GB RAM,32GB internal storage and a microSDXC card slot. Boomsound is apparently 25% louder on this device than the HTC One M8 as well. The HTC Butterfly 2 also comes equipped with HARMAN technology, and will feature LiveStage™ Signal Processing Technology1, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and comes bundled with exclusively designed JBL in-ear-headphones in Japan.
The HTC Butterfly 2,also features has a slightly larger battery than the HTC One M8, 2,700mAh as compared to the One’s 2,600mAh.Surprisingly,the HTC Butterfly 2 is water resistant and IP57-rated. The HTC Butterfly 2 will be distributed through through KDDI in Japan and Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan, CSL in Hong Kong, and a number of other carriers throughout South Asia.
