Sprint HTC One M8 receives upgrade to Android 4.4.3 as of this week.
If you live in the United States and are the owner of a HTC One M8 on the Sprint network then you might want to start checking the software update section in your phone. Over on Sprint’s support page they have confirmed the device will be receiving the Android upgrade as well as a few other new features.
Before the update became official people were assuming it was going to be an update to Android 4.4.4, but we know now that isn’t the case. As well as the update to Android 4.4.3, the One M8 will receive WI-FI calling support, security enhancements and performance tweaks. WI-FI calling is similar to Apple’s FaceTime audio and allows you to make calls and send SMS over WIFI networks instead of over a cell network.
The update will be rolled out in stages, and the official word on Sprint’s support blog is that it could take several days for you to receive the OTA. If you’re dying to get your hands on Sprint’s latest update then head on over to Settings > System Updates > HTC Software Updates > Check now.
Let us know in the comments if you’ve received the update and what you think of it.
